Devoted to serving others, Dr. David H. Lifschutz is a board-certified psychiatrist and clinical psychopharmacologist for more than 30 years. He is an attending staff psychiatrist at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital, where he also supervises psychiatry residents. Additionally, he offers teletherapy and limited in-person appointments at his office in New York City in the Upper East Side. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Dr. Lifschutz completed his psychiatric residency and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California (USC) Medical Center. He also has seven years of training as a Psychoanalyst at the NYU Postdoctoral Program for Psychoanalysis. With a commitment to excellence, Dr. Lifschutz is certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

At the start of his career, Dr. Lifschutz became interested in psychedelic drugs while training at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center in the 60s. In October 2019, as a result of this curiosity, Dr. Lifschutz trained in the administration of Ketamine and was then accepted to the MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies) training program for MDMA Assisted Psychotherapy once MDMA is legalized. Additionally, he is trained in Harm Reduction and the Integration of psychedelic drugs. Integration refers to helping individuals make sense out of a past psychedelic experience.

Dr. Lifschutz’s private practice focuses on Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), Psychopharmacology, and Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration. Having gained valuable knowledge and experience in psychedelic drugs, he offers ketamine infusions to treat bi-polar depression, treatment-resistant depression, OCD, PTSD, and anxiety. As a clinical psychopharmacologist, Dr. Lifschutz understands how drugs interact with your complex biochemistry to restore balance, and as a result, offers different psychiatric medications to treat mental health disorders. The primary class of medications prescribed by Dr. Lifschutz includes antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, mood stabilizers, and stimulants, just to name a few.
