Vero Beach, FL- Dr. Mariano Ezequiel Brizzio is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member for his work in the Healthcare field.
Dr. Brizzio is known as a pioneer in the field of transcatheter valve therapies and all forms of open heart surgery. He specializes in minimally invasive coronary bypasses and adult congenital heart disease. Dr. Brizzio earned his medical degree overseas from Universidad de Buenos Aires and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from Universidad del Salvador in Argentina. He completed his residency in general and cardiac and vascular surgery at Complejo Medico Churruca-Visca and Instituto Sacre-Coeur. After his residency, he relocated to the United States. Dr.Brizzio completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He specializes in heart valve surgery, including transcatheter valve therapies and off pump coronary bypass surgery.
Before working at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Brizzio served as an attending cardiac surgeon at The Valley-Columbia Heart Center in New Jersey and a Clinical Assistant professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He currently has 27 years in his position.
Dr. Brizzio is an Associate Fellow in the American College of Cardiology and a member of The Society of Thoracic Surgeons among other organization. He has been the recipient of the Patients’ Choice Award (2009, 2008). The doctor enjoys helping those in need, loves humanitarian work, and has had the opportunity to perform open-heart surgeries during several medical missions overseas with Cardiostart International and the Gift of Life Foundation. He is also fluent in both English and Spanish.
Dr. Brizzio’s mentor in cardiothoracic surgery is Alex Zapolanski, MD. He would like to dedicate this recognition in loving memory of his father, Eugenio Brizzio.
