Winder, GA – Evelyn Blount is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Life Achiever for the accomplishments she has accrued as an Executive Director – Treasurer Emeritus at Woman’s Missionary Union Auxiliary to South Carolina Baptist Convention.
The SC Woman’s Missionary Union of Auxiliary to the South Carolina Baptist Convention aims to empower churches and believers to participate in fulfilling the Great Commission. They challenge Christians to understand and be involved in God’s mission through six steps of learning, praying, developing, supporting, participating, and engaging. Ms. Blount served in this role from 1985 to 2008. Before this role, she served at National Woman’s Mission Union as a youth department supervisor, field service director, national enlargement plan director, and program design specialist.
With more than 40 years of professional experience, Ms. Blount is a top executive. Her career began in 1964 as a teacher at Blue Mountain College. She then worked at Berkmar High School from 1966 to 1967. After 1967, she entered sacred positions, serving at a Baptist Center and at First Baptist Church, Auburn, AL and Georgia Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union before beginning her career with National Woman’s Missionary Union.
An academic, Ms. Blount earned an undergraduate degree at the Woman’s College of Georgia and a master’s degree in religious education at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
An active member of her community, Ms. Blount served as a member of Hold Out the Lifeline: Prenatal & Family Ministries and worked as a volunteer with the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice. She maintains affiliations with the Barron County Cooperative Benevolence Ministries.
Outside of her professional life, Ms. Blount enjoys playing sports and spending time with her nieces and nephews. In the future, she plans to involve more people in missions and continue assisting those in need.
