Educated in the United States, Dr. Al-Qawasmi graduated with her medical degree (MD) from the West Virginia University School of Medicine in 2015 and completed her residency in psychiatry at the same academic institution in 2020. After her education, the doctor attained board certification in psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

Dr. Al-Qawasmi was the first in her family to enter the medical field, but two of her sisters followed shortly after her. She hopes to expand what it looks like to be a doctor and is interested in teaching in the future. On a more personal note, the doctor recently married and just celebrated her one-year wedding anniversary.
