Houston, TX— Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Heather Palomo is acknowledged as a Distinguished Business Professional for her contributions to the field of Mortgage Lending.
Ms. Palomo attended the University of Houston Downtown in 2000 where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, and Interdisciplinary Studies. She then attended the University of Phoenix in 2003 where she received a Master of Arts in Business Management. Ms. Palomo capped her scholarship with a certification in executive education, business administration, and management through the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University in 2021.
Launching her career at Chase Manhattan Bank in 1999, Ms. Palomo quickly advanced up the corporate ladder becoming a bank officer. She gathered extensive experiences at different companies through the years becoming an account executive at CIT Finance Investment Bank and GMAC/Residential Capital Corporation; an operations manager and assistant vice president at First Community Credit Union; a correspondent account executive at Stonegate Mortgage Corporation; and a correspondent sales executive at Caliber Home Loans.
Ms. Palomo is currently the senior vice president and mortgage lending manager at Central Bank where she has served since 2019. She explained that as Houston’s longest-serving independent bank, she represents her team by focusing on expanding into a secondary market and diversifying its products to match borrowers’ needs. Known for mentoring her employees, the business professional is anticipating an industry stabilization where business returns to a more consistent level of profitability and intended growth.
Attributing her success to hard work, determination, integrity, and diversity, Ms. Palomo has received many honors during her career, including the Chase Leadership Star Award in 2002 while employed with Chase Manhattan Bank as the institution’s liaison between underwriting, sales, and asset recovery. She also won a Circle of Excellence Award from Caliber Home Loans in 2016 and 2017; was elected to the President’s Club in 2016 and 2017; and was honored with a Leading Women Reward from Living Magazine in 2022.
Looking to the future, Ms. Palomo plans to spend more time participating in advocacy work for the mortgage industry and community banks while finishing up a doctorate in business administration. She also intends to continue to serve on the board of directors for the homeowner’s association where she currently resides.
