As a seasoned and trusted endocrinologist, Dr. Thurman has been in practice since 1997, having garnered a laudable reputation for his vast knowledge and professional experience. In his current capacity, he serves patients as the Medical Director and Endocrinologist at the Diabetes Care Center at SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital. Offering a repertoire of expertise, he can diagnose and treat hormone problems and any complications that may arise from them.  In the human body, hormones play a part in regulating multiple systems throughout such as metabolism, respiration, growth, reproduction, sensory perception, and movement. Hormone imbalances are the underlying reason for a wide range of medical conditions. Dr. Thurman’s endocrinology practice focuses on patients with thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, obesity male impotence, poly-cystic ovarian syndrome, and other hormone-related problems.

To prepare for his acclaimed career, Dr. Thurman completed a Masters in Healthcare Administration at St. Louis University. Following graduation, he went on to earn his Degree in Endocrinology with the University of Missouri. As a result of his success during medical school, he was invited for a fellowship with Saint Louis University School of Medicine’s endocrinology and metabolism department and completed an Internal Medicine residency with St. John’s Mercy Medical Center.  Dr. Thurman shares his knowledge and remains up to date in the latest developments in Endocrinology with his affiliations with the American College of Endocrinology.
