Kimberly M. Speights is on a path to academic excellence, currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Community Health Promotion at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Her academic pursuits are complemented by a Master’s degree in Human Services/Marriage & Family Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor of Science in Christian Counseling, also from Liberty University.

Adding to her diverse skill set, Kimberly is a Licensed Clergy member in Alabama since 2012, further exemplifying her commitment to serving her community.

Kimberly is an active member of the American Health Association and the International Christian Coaching Association, showcasing her dedication to professional excellence and community service.

Kimberly’s remarkable contributions have not gone unnoticed. She received the 2013 Outstanding Community Service Medal from the NAACP, followed by the “StrongHer Award” from the City of Birmingham in 2020. The Alabama House of Representatives honored her with the prestigious “She Leads Alabama” recognition in 2023. Furthermore, she was featured as “A Woman to Watch” by the Birmingham Business Journal in September 2023.

Kimberly has been at the helm of her charitable organization since January 2023, amassing a decade of experience in her role. Her work centers around providing essential meals and facilitating access to healthcare, mental health, and addiction recovery services for underserved individuals.

Kimberly is also a published author and researcher. Her works include “From Dangerous, Disastrous, Dysfunctional to Destiny” (2019), a testament to her dedication to inspiring positive change. Additionally, she co-authored a journal article in 2020 titled “Covid-19 in Under Resourced African American Neighborhoods: a Qualitative Study Examining Community Member and Stakeholders Perceptions,” and in 2018, she co-authored “A Multi-Level Approach to Violence Prevention Among African American Adolescents.” Kimberly’s own book, “From Dangerous, Disastrous, Dysfunctional to Destiny,” holds a special place in her heart as a source of inspiration and guidance.
