Krishni De Thabrew, MD — Mental Health Professional

Englewood Cliffs, NJ — Krishni De Thabrew, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Trusted Physician and Mental Health Professional and in acknowledgment of her work as a Psychiatrist at Well-Being.

Dr. De Thabrew completed a seven-year program at the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, where she studied Russian language in her first year prior to achieving her medical degree. Her psychiatric residency was completed at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA (2012-16), where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. The doctor is a board-certified psychiatrist.

Dr. De Thabrew has a private practice with offices in New York City and Englewood, NJ. She serves as a contract psychiatrist with several hospitals and state institutions locally. As a psychiatrist, she treats the chronically mentally ill, and works primarily in the multicultural unit, treating patients who are challenged by language or deafness. She does individual and group therapy, psychotherapy, and medication management. In addition, she teaches medical students through Colombia University, and is focused on opening her own telepsychiatry practice within the year.

The doctor is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. Through the APA, Dr. De Thabrew works with the United Nations in discussions regarding displaced people, refugees, and conflict resolution. She has also worked with the Friends of West Bergen Mental Health Care helping immigrants assimilate to life in the United States. Dr. De Thabrew is fluent in English Russian and Singhalese.

Dr. De Thabrew would like to recognize her parents for their support and honor the loving memory of her father, Mr. Roy De Thabrew and her mother, Shiranee De Thabrew. The doctor also wishes to thank her mentor, Alex Sabo, MD. The doctor has been married to Steve Brigham, MD for 15 years. They have one child.
