An acclaimed attorney, Mr. Hinojosa’s areas of expertise include probate, conservatorship and trust litigation, probate and trust administrations, and conservatorships. He has been practicing since 1968, having represented the L.A. County Public Administrator/Public Guardian and handled hundreds of decedent estates and guardianships. Then, he transferred to other divisions, where he practiced administrative law and civil litigation. In 1971, he opened a private practice, primarily handling high-level entertainment, business and real estate litigation, and business transactions. Three years later, his probate practice started increasing. By 1986, he solely focused on probates, trusts, and conservatorship. On account of his extensive experience, he is regularly appointed by the court, retained by private parties, and called upon for expert testimony.
In recognition of academic achievements, Mr. Hinojosa attended Yale University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) in 1964, transitioning to the University of California at Los Angeles School of Law where he earned a Juris Doctor degree (JD) in 1967.
A respected voice in his areas of expertise, Mr. Hinojosa has served as a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) since 1999 and on the Advisory Board/Estate Planning Institute of UCLA-CEB since 2003. He is a member of the Probate and Trusts Section of the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), and the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the American Bar Association (ABA).
Mr. Hinojosa has shared his breadth of knowledge in multiple publications such as “Handling a Probate” in CEB Action Guide, “The Publications: Ubiquitous Heirhunters” in the newsletter Probate Solutions, and “The Great Record Ripoff: Penal Sanctions and State Civil Remedies” in the University of West Los Angeles Law Review.
On top of these accomplishments, Mr. Hinojosa was selected as a Southern California “Super Lawyer” for the past fifteen years. In 2015, the Los Angeles County Bar Association awarded him the Arthur K. Marshall Award. Most recently, Super Lawyers recognized him as a one of the Top 100 attorneys in Southern California.
