Columbus, OH— Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Michael Cantwell is acknowledged as State Artist of the Year 2023 for his contributions to the Fine Arts Industry.
Mr. Cantwell began higher education at the University of Notre Dame where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art. He then attended The University of South Florida where he received a Master of Fine Art degree and completed a thesis in Punk Art. Recognized for his extraordinary talent, the artist is an expert in various art mediums including drawing; sketchbook; nature; people; computer art animations; painting oils; and binary series. A testament to his excellence, he received a National Endowment of the Arts Grant; his artwork has been displayed at the Ormond Beach War Memorial Gallery Show; and his portraits in oil and computer art are celebrated the world over.
Aside from his professional pursuits, Mr. Cantwell enjoys fly fishing; tying trout flies; is an art curator; likes to play golf; go biking and hiking; and is an amateur chef. He notes that he is a “unique blend of art and life experiences that have enabled him to create breathtaking artwork that speaks to the heart of all those who view it.” An inspiration to other artists, his passion and dedication to the arts are truly an inspiration for all those who strive to make a difference in the world through their creative expressions.
