Nicholas A. Longo — Distinguished Attorney

Putnam, CT  — Nicholas A. Longo is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Attorney for his work in the field of Law and in acknowledgment of his work at Bachand Longo & Higgins.

Mr. Longo works at Bachand, Longo & Higgins. The firm first opened its doors in 1935, and has been helping the Putnam, CT, community ever since. Mr. Longo started at the firm in 1960, where he still works today. Located at 168 Main St. in Putnam, CT, the firm is open 9 AM-5 PM Monday through Friday.

He began his college education at Clark University in Worcester, MA, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1956. He then earned a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 1959.

As he began his longstanding legal career, Mr. Longo gained experience as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney on the 11th Circuit Court from 1961-1965. He then took on a position as the Deputy Coroner of Windham County from 1965-1972. Mr. Longo has worked as an Attorney at Bachand, Longo & Higgins for over 56 years.

In his daily work, Mr. Longo helps his clients navigate the complexities of many types of real estate law, estate planning, business law, municipal matters, civil proceedings, and more. He represents buyers and sellers of both residential and commercial real estate properties. Mr. Longo represents borrowers and lenders in commercial mortgage transactions, as well as representing landlords or tenants in housing dispute matters. He has expertise in boundary and easement disputes, zoning, land use, and many other types of regulatory law matters.

As a professional in his field, he is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association and the Windham County Bar Association. He has previously served as the Board of Directors of Putnam Savings and Loan Association (1969-1978), Board of Directors of the Citizen’s National Bank (1969-2015), and a General Counsel for Citizen’s National Bank (1969-2015).

He is an active member of his local community, and is involved with myriad organizations. He is the Past Chairman of the Town of Putnam Zoning Board of Appeals, the Past President of the Putnam Area Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Putnam Board of Education, a member of the State Board of Education, and a member of the Vision for Putnam Committee.
