The nurse practitioner contributes much of her success to her mentor, Dr. Chachang, and also follows her philosophy “not to make patients feel they are less of a person due to mental illness,” treating her patients with dignity and respect. While Ms. McLeod has received many accolades for her patient-focused care, she considers going into practice as a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner as her greatest career accomplishment.

Looking to the future, Ms. McLeod plans to continue caring for as many patients as she can. Aside from her professional pursuits, the nurse practitioner enjoys traveling, especially to Jamaica, and spending time with her family. She would like to dedicate this honor and express gratitude to her husband, Augustus, for his love and support.
