In preparation for her career, Ms. Geyer earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in political science from Indiana University and a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. A third generation attorney, she was admitted to the bar in 1999. A board certified Indiana trust and estate specialist (1) and a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), Ms. Geyer is also an adjunct professor of elder law at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Backed by twenty years of professional excellence, Ms. Geyer is one of the most efficient attorneys in Hamilton County. Outside of her work at the firm, she frequently lectures and presents with ICLEF, ISBA, and the IBA. Ms. Geyer is active in the legal community where she serves as Secretary of the Indianapolis Bar Association (IBA), Immediate Past President of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation (IBF), a former Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA), and a Past President of the Indiana Section of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She served on the Board of Governors of the Indiana State Bar Association from 2016-2018.
Throughout her career, Ms. Geyer has received numerous awards and recognitions. In 2018, Ms. Geyer was recognized by the Indianapolis Bar Association for service to the profession, and was awarded the Indianapolis Bar Association’s Dr. John Morton Finney Award for Excellence in Legal Education in 2013. She was named to the Indianapolis Business Journal’s 2014 40 Under 40 Class, which recognizes individuals making a difference in their professions and communities prior to the age of 40. Since 2014, Rebecca has been named to the prestigious list of Super Lawyers® for estate planning, and was designated as one of the top 50 attorneys in Indiana in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and one of the top 25 women lawyers in Indiana in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 by Law & Politics Magazine and Indianapolis Monthly.
When she is not working, Ms. Geyer enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons, home decorating, reading, walking, and cheering on the Indiana Hoosiers and Indianapolis Colts. An avid volunteer, she annually provides pro bono legal services through her association with the IBA and the Albert and Sara Reuben Senior Resource and Community Center.
