Dr. Calabria sought higher education at Monmouth University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated with his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2000; completed a residency in emergency medicine at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in 2002; finished a second residency in internal medicine and emergency medicine; and capped his scholarship with a fellowship in sports medicine at St. Barnabas Medical Center/Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
Board-certified in internal medicine by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine (AOBIM), the doctor notes that the AOBIM is an organization that provides board certification to qualified Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease in adults. He explained that internal medicine is the medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases.
