About Me
Manfred Van Dulmen, PhD, is a distinguished academic leader in higher education, known for guiding complex institutions through periods of growth and challenge. At Kent State University, he oversees all academic areas, manages an annual budget of approximately 260 million dollars, leads 14 direct reports, and serves as a key liaison with state industries. Dr. Van Dulmen earned his doctorate in family social science from the University of Minnesota in 2001 and has built a career grounded in scholarship, leadership, and service. Among his most notable accomplishments, he led the university through the COVID pandemic with stability and purpose and founded the peer reviewed journal Emerging Adulthood in 2012. He has authored more than 100 peer reviewed articles and remains deeply committed to helping people improve their lives. His guiding philosophy centers on talent, willpower, and commitment.
