Hello
Bruce A. Bartoo
Pres/ Chief Gratitude Officer
Bradenton, FL
About Me
Bruce A. Bartoo, CEO, is a visionary leader in healthcare philanthropy, pioneering a unique, gratitude-driven approach to patient care, staff well-being, and institutional fundraising. With a focus on “triaging the gratitude” of both patients and healthcare professionals, Bruce has redefined how hospitals engage emotionally, leading to stronger human connections, improved patient experiences, and remarkable increases in philanthropic contributions.
Holding an MPA from Drake University (1990) and recognized as a Certified Fundraising Executive, Bruce has led organizations through transformative growth—raising funds that expanded institutional giving from $19 million to $150 million. He is the founder of the Healthcare Gratitude Summit, known for integrating pet therapy, coaching, and emotional training into clinical environments to reduce burnout and cultivate a culture of compassion.
A frequent speaker and published author—including a feature in Newsweek and recipient of a Professional Journal Article of the Year—Bruce is also a member of ACHE, AHP, and a committed volunteer through Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and Grace Community Church.
He proudly calls himself an “evangelist of gratitude,” believing that his work is not just a job but a calling. Inspired by his father, Donald Bartoo, an entrepreneur who sparked his drive, Bruce infuses everything he does with passion, discipline, faith, and follow-through. Off the clock, he’s a “car guy” who enjoys cruises and exploring life with his wife.
Looking ahead, Bruce's mission is bold and unwavering: to change the healthcare industry through compassion, gratitude, and a renewed sense of purpose—transforming institutions one heartfelt thank-you at a time.
