Dr. Melony Gibson is a visionary leader within the YMCA, serving as CEO of the Youth Development Department and spearheading mission-driven programs across the Memphis Mid-South region, with expansion into Arkansas and Mississippi on the horizon. With an EdD in Performance Leadership and Organizational Change from Capella University, her expertise lies in strategic programming, leadership development, succession planning, and identifying the right talent to strengthen organizations. She has been instrumental in initiatives such as the Violent Crime Intervention Fund, Y Achievers, and the Virtual Growing Leadership Program, while also co-chairing Bright Horizon and leading transformational capstone fellowships.

Her published work in Child Care Exchange and her long-standing involvement with professional organizations like SHRM, NBCBI, and NAEYC reflect her dedication to building sustainable community programs. Dr. Gibson finds her greatest pride in her family, crediting the support of her husband Ralph E. Gibson and her parents, Shirley and Clarence McDowell. Looking forward, she aims to expand wraparound services and establish the YMCA as a model program.
