Joshua Sigsworth is a doctor of physical therapy and inventor whose mission is to improve mobility, independence, and safety for patients and caregivers. Joshua’s background in physical therapy and strong leadership skills created an innovative durable medical equipment called “StairAssist Walker” (SAW). SAW requires a caregiver and has a primary function of assisting patients that have difficulty with stairs e.g. leg fractures, stroke, and amputees, and a secondary function as a rolling walker. SAW has the potential to increase discharge rates and reduce readmissions for hospitals and other healthcare institutions. Joshua has raised millions in funding to advance product development and is on target to commercialize in 2026. He is also committed to serving his community through volunteer contributions including volunteering at a Boston Marathon medical tent for the past 16 years. Joshua is most proud of the life he has created with his wife and two children.
