Dr. Julie Bazan is dedicated to health, education, and community service, advocating for accessibility and preparedness nationwide. She holds a PhD in Management specializing in Organizational Leadership, a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix, and multiple certifications. She has over thirty years of experience in nonprofits, healthcare, and education.
As Executive Director of AHEC in Texas, her work includes increasing medical provider availability in rural areas and promoting professional development by engaging with individuals across all age groups, from elementary to college-level learners. She is skilled in consensus-building and community engagement. As President of the National AHEC, she elevates its mission and advocates for healthcare issues on Capitol Hill. She received the LULAC Higher Education Award and Ohtli Award for contributions to binational efforts. She has been inducted into the Laredo Women's Hall of Fame.
