Dr. Spells is most proud of leading a school district to achieve a C rating within three years while maintaining a strong focus on student outcomes and graduation success. He is active in professional organizations such as the American Association of School Administrators and DALI and serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way. A former basketball coach, he values teamwork and discipline. His honors include being named a top three finalist for Superintendent of the Year in 2025 and receiving a Top Ten Leaders Award.
