Dr. Robert L. Conter, MD, FACS is a distinguished general surgeon with decades of expertise in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and leadership in the medical field. A graduate of Rush University (1981), Dr. Conter has dedicated his career to advancing medical and legal standards, serving on executive boards, managing credentialing, and maintaining a rigorous schedule that includes early meetings, daily rounds, and "SWAT patrol" discharges. A past president of the Association for Academic Surgery (1993), he has published 15 books and delivered numerous talks, contributing significantly to medical education and practice.
Dr. Conter balances his professional achievements with a passion for mentoring his grandchildren, teaching them science, aeronautics, and the value of reading. Beyond the hospital, he enjoys weightlifting, exercising, and playing the guitar.
