Thomas E. Murphy, CTO, is a seasoned leader in healthcare technology and gene therapy, with a career in IT that began at the age of 16. With deep expertise in software architecture, healthcare systems, and gene-based innovation, Thomas has consistently leveraged technology to enhance patient care and system efficiency on a global scale.
He holds an MBA from the Jack Welch School of Business (2022) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan (1983), where he also published early work in software architecture. Throughout his career, Thomas has earned recognition as Manager of the Year in Technology/Software, while mentoring colleagues who have gone on to hold leadership roles at Fortune 5 companies—a contribution he considers one of his greatest professional accomplishments.
Thomas is deeply committed to volunteerism, having served with the Knights of Columbus and other nonprofits, and remains grounded in faith, family, and community. He is most proud of his wife, an accomplished addiction therapist, as well as their three children and nine grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys building, learning, and spending meaningful time with his family.
