Since October 2025, Dr. Sergelyne Cadet Valeus has served as Chief Medical Officer, bringing a patient centered and education driven approach to clinical leadership. She is also a dedicated internist at the Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, where she provides comprehensive medical care to patients with diverse and complex healthcare needs. Her clinical focus includes the management of chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, with an emphasis on continuity of care, patient education, and patient advocacy.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Cadet Valeus serves as a preceptor for internal medicine residents training at the practice. In this capacity, she oversees clinical work, offers mentorship, and supports the professional development of future physicians, reflecting her commitment to medical education and excellence in patient care.
Dr. Cadet Valeus began her academic journey with one year of general science studies at Queens College in New York. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Montemorelos in Mexico and completed her internal medicine residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is an active member of the American Medical Association.
Beyond her professional duties, Dr. Cadet Valeus is deeply committed to service and global health outreach. She volunteers with Healthcare Ministries, an organization of physicians and nurses who participate in health fairs and deliver educational presentations through the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her volunteer efforts have extended internationally, including service in the Bahamas, underscoring her dedication to expanding access to care and health education worldwide.
