With more than 45 years of experience in the medical field, she has earned recognition for her commitment to improving patient outcomes, strengthening healthcare systems, and serving as an advocate for both patients and healthcare professionals.
Ms. Johnson currently serves as a Registered Nurse Risk Manager, where she is responsible for hospital risk assessment and mitigation and organizational risk management, while working in collaboration with other members of the quality team who support patient safety oversight, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance activities.
In addition to her healthcare leadership responsibilities, she is a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant who provides clinical expertise, case analysis, and assists defense counsel with the discovery process if the need arises in the hospital setting.
Her professional expertise spans risk management, patient safety, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, legal nurse consulting, emergency department nursing, post-anesthesia care, case management, and patient advocacy. Ms. Johnson earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Southeast Missouri State University in 1985. She is also affiliated with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, reflecting her commitment to professional development and excellence within her field.
Her healthcare journey began as a Certified Nursing Assistant before advancing into nursing. She has spent more than four decades serving Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri, where she has built an impressive 45-year career. During that time, she gained extensive clinical experience working in the emergency department and spent more than a decade in post-anesthesia care before transitioning into case management.
In 2013, Ms. Johnson moved into Risk Management and Quality, where she found an opportunity to leverage her broad clinical background to improve patient safety and organizational performance on a larger scale. Her experience across multiple healthcare disciplines has provided valuable insight into the challenges healthcare organizations face and has strengthened her ability to develop effective solutions that enhance patient care.
As a Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, she has successfully integrated healthcare and legal expertise to support attorneys and healthcare organizations in understanding complex medical issues. Her work helps ensure accurate case evaluations while promoting accountability, safety, and quality within healthcare systems.
