Eau Claire, WI – Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Jack Daniel is acknowledged as a Lifetime Achiever for his contributions to Advancing Groundwater Safety and Public Health.

Jack Daniel has dedicated his career to protecting public health through environmental science, groundwater safety, and soil conservation. With nearly 25 years of service as a Drinking Water and Ground Water Specialist for the State of Wisconsin, he built a reputation for helping homeowners and communities understand the critical importance of safe drinking water and proper well maintenance.

Throughout his career, Mr. Daniel specialized in public and private well inspections, residential water testing, and groundwater safety. His expertise includes evaluating soil filtration systems, identifying potential sources of contamination, and educating property owners about maintaining code compliant wells. He has extensive experience testing drinking water for volatile organic compounds, arsenic, nitrates, pesticides, bacteria, and viruses, emphasizing that water that appears clean and tastes good is not always safe to drink.

Mr. Daniel earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin in 1971. His education provided the scientific foundation for a career devoted to environmental stewardship and protecting one of the world’s most valuable natural resources through sound groundwater management and public education.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Daniel became known for his thorough inspections, innovative approach to groundwater protection, and commitment to educating homeowners about the invisible risks associated with contaminated wells. Following his retirement in 2013, he has continued serving his community as a volunteer with Mayo Hospital and Clinic, Eau Claire Campus, while remaining an advocate for groundwater safety and environmental awareness.

In 2026, Mr. Daniel shared his expertise with a broader audience as a guest on the CUTV News podcast with Jim Masters, where he discussed private well safety, water quality testing, and practical steps homeowners can take to protect their drinking water.

Outside of his professional interests, Mr. Daniel enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. These experiences continue to reinforce his appreciation for healthy communities and the importance of preserving natural resources for future generations.

Guided by the philosophy that clean looking, good tasting water is not necessarily safe water, Mr. Daniel encourages homeowners to regularly test their wells, maintain proper well seals, and ensure adequate distance from potential contamination sources. Through decades of service and education, he has helped countless individuals better understand the science behind groundwater protection and the essential role it plays in safeguarding public health.
