Lakeland, FL – Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Douglas B. Westberry is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Professional Member Inner Circle of Excellence for his contributions to Music Education and School Leadership.

Douglas B. Westberry has dedicated over 30 years to advancing music education and school administration, leaving an indelible mark on students, colleagues, and the broader choral community. Serving Harford County Public Schools from 1978 to 2008—primarily at North Harford Middle School. Mr. Westberry held roles as a music teacher, choral director, and administrative designee. His leadership and passion helped build one of the region’s most celebrated middle school music programs.
Under his direction, five student choruses earned a total of 11 Excellent ratings and an impressive 37 Superior ratings at local, state, and national music festivals reflecting his ability to inspire young musicians to achieve high standards of performance and artistry.
Mr. Westberry holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from Florida International University and earned his principal certification from the National Association of State Directors of Teacher Education and Certification in 1987. He is a longtime member of both the National Association for Music Education and the American Choral Directors Association, organizations that support professional excellence in the field.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Westberry contributed to his community through his involvement with the New Directions Vocal Group at Riverside Baptist Church, further demonstrating his lifelong commitment to musical outreach.
With deep gratitude, Mr. Westberry acknowledges the support of his wife, Janice Willis Westberry, with whom he has shared 49 years of marriage. As he reflects on a career built on creativity, leadership, and service, he looks forward to continued personal and professional growth in the years ahead.
