Dr. George San Miguel, MD, FACOG, is being honored for his distinguished career in women’s healthcare and his years of dedicated service in the United States Army. With decades of experience in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. San Miguel continues to provide high-quality, office-based care to women of all ages.
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. San Miguel focuses primarily on gynecological treatment and prioritizes a personalized, evidence-based approach to medicine. While he continues to perform select surgeries and deliveries, his practice emphasizes patient education, preventative care, and the integration of emerging technologies, including the evolving role of AI in medicine.
Dr. San Miguel earned his Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was active in the ROTC program. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, followed by a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Army Medical Center. His commitment to service extended beyond clinical settings, having served 10.5 years in the United States Army. He was primarily stationed at the Army Medical Center in Frankfurt, Germany, and achieved the rank of Major.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. San Miguel is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and has held leadership roles, including Chief of Staff at his hospital. He has served on various institutional committees throughout his career, helping to shape policies and promote patient-centered care.
Dr. San Miguel credits much of his inspiration and professional development to his college roommate, Dr. Wesley Stafford. He remains committed to ongoing medical advancement and continues to be a respected figure in his field and community.
