Shannon Lynn Stemen Recognized as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year for Healthcare Operations and Senior Living Leadership

HILLSDALE, MI. — Shannon Lynn Stemen has been featured in The Inner Circle as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year for her contributions to healthcare operations and senior living leadership.

Stemen is a healthcare operations executive with 17 years of leadership experience guiding organizations through growth, stabilization, and operational transformation. As Area Vice President – Senior Living at PharMerica, she leads growth strategy and executive partnerships while providing operational oversight across a territory spanning more than half of the United States. She helps senior living organizations align pharmacy services with their operational priorities.

Her experience spans senior living, home health, long-term care, and skilled nursing. Stemen has helped develop and launch luxury senior living communities from the ground up, establishing the policies, procedures, operating systems, and leadership teams needed for a successful opening. She is equally known for entering underperforming organizations, identifying weaknesses in their systems, and leading turnarounds that improve financial performance, care quality, and workforce stability.

Stemen’s results include leading a community from 36% occupancy to sustained 100% occupancy. In Fort Wayne, she drove $6.7 million in revenue and 47% first-year growth, improved margins from 34% to 49%, and reduced operating losses by 68%. In Mason, she delivered $4.2 million in revenue growth, a $1 million margin improvement, and a 50% reduction in operating losses. A senior living community under her leadership was recognized as Fort Wayne Best Assisted Living from 2022 through 2024.

Before joining PharMerica, Stemen served as Regional Vice President of Operations at BrightStar Care, a leading national healthcare franchise. Across her leadership roles, she has combined financial discipline with a focus on regulatory performance, compassionate care, and developing teams capable of sustaining results.

Stemen earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Ministry from Spring Arbor University and a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University. She is a nationally licensed healthcare administrator and a Certified Dementia Practitioner.

Stemen also participates in mission work, community drives, and service projects supporting people and families in need. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her family, hiking, working out, basketball, golf, and boating on the lake.
