Adam Rosendorff — Clinical Pathologist

Walnut Creek, CA— Adam Rosendorff is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Healthcare Providerfor his contributions in the medical field.

Dr. Rosendorff earned a BA with Honors in English Literature and Economics, minoring in Philosophy from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. He earned an MD from Mount Sinai, School of Medicine in New York City and a medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2000. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital-Lifespan in 2001. His post-doctoral research fellowship and residency in clinical pathology (laboratory medicine) was completed at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard University School of Medicine and he also finished a post-doctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2005.

Dr. Rosendorff completed another residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard University School of Medicine in 2008.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology (ABPath). According to Dr. Rosendorff, the mission of the ABPath is to promote the health of the public and advance the practice and science of pathology by establishing voluntary certification standards and assessing the qualifications of those seeking to practice the specialty of pathology.

Dr. Rosendorf is considered an expert in clinical pathology and is a specialist in laboratory medicine. He is the CEO & Founder of GilaRiverMD LLC in Walnut Creek California. According to the doctor, he helps with interpretation of laboratory tests and guidance regarding medical usefulness of lab tests, obesity and diabetes, medical management, and relationship of lab tests to lifestyle preferences. His mission is to help patients, particularly poor or underserved, understand their lab tests and point them in the right direction. The company notes that it offers 18 years of physician experience. In addition, he is a clinical pathologist with 14 years CLIA Lab Director experience. He also has expertise in infectious diseases, hematology and oncology, molecular genetic pathology, clinical chemistry, molecular microbiology, hematology, and toxicology.

The doctor is affiliated with the Association of Molecular Pathology the American Society for Clinical Pathology; the College of American Pathologists the Society for Pediatric Pathology; and the Academy of Clinical Laboratory and Physician Scientists.

According to Dr. Rosendorff, pathology is a branch of medical science that involves the study and diagnosis of disease through the examination of surgically removed organs tissues bodily fluids and in some cases the whole body. Pathologists are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and management of diseases by laboratory methods.

The doctor has received the Dr. Rosen Howard Hughes Medical Institute Physician Scientist Early Career Award (2009-2013); Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Grant Awardee (Fellow – 2002-2005); Morris B Bender Family Prize for Clinical Neurology (2000); Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Training Fellowship (1998-1999); Faculty of Arts Gold Medal University of the Witwatersrand (1992); and University Council Entrance Scholarship (1988). Dr. Rosendorff also speaks several languages, including English, French, Spanish, Hebrew, and Latin.
