A board-certified surgeon specializing in Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Martin treats a wide range of disorders affecting the colon, rectum, and anus. Those conditions range from colon and rectal cancer, diverticular disease, hemorrhoids, anal incontinence, to anal fissures. Dr. Martin offers his patients state-of-the-art, minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy and robotic-assisted surgeries, significantly reducing patient recovery time and enhancing overall surgical experiences.
Dr. Martin is part of North Florida Surgeons, a prestigious surgical specialty group affiliated with Ascension St. Vincent’s Southside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, and Baptist Medical Center Beaches in Jacksonville Beach, FL. Dr. Martin prides himself on treating his patients as if they were family, taking the time to educate them on their medical conditions, answering any questions they may have, and working together to overcome surgical pathology.
In pursuit of his medical education, Dr. Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry at St. Leo University and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He completed his General Surgical Residency at Mercy Health System in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Martin also practiced general surgery before completing his Fellowship specializing in Colorectal Surgery at the Colorectal Clinic of Orlando. He serves as the head of the Robotic Steering Committee at St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside, one of the Centers of Excellence in Robotic Surgery.
Dr. Martin is a member of the American Board of Osteopathic Surgery. He is also a clinical preceptor for Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Nova Southeastern University Physician Assistant Program in Jacksonville, FL. Dr. Martin is a contributing Colon and Rectal Surgery author to Cameron’s Current Surgical Therapy 13th Edition.
