David A. Spoor, RN, is a trailblazer in the nursing and healthcare industry, managing a 132-bed healthcare facility with 80 long-term care and 52 rehabilitation beds. With a focus on leadership, innovation, and patient care, Mr. Spoor oversees 3 Unit Managers and 9 direct reports, ensuring operational excellence through meticulous double-checking of staff, conducting leadership and general meetings, budget reviews, staffing optimization, and coaching initiatives.

An alumnus of the University of Phoenix with a Master’s in Health Administration (MHA) earned in 2007, Mr. Spoor’s career is characterized by his commitment to empowering nursing teams and enhancing healthcare delivery. His tenure at Sturdy Memorial saw the successful implementation of a shared governance structure, a transformational initiative that gave nurses a voice in decision-making and significantly improved engagement and morale within the organization.

Mr. Spoor’s expertise extends beyond management. As a member of several esteemed professional organizations, including ONL, NADONA, and AONL, he actively contributes to advancing nursing practices nationwide. His fellowship experiences through the Advisory Board’s Fellowship Academy; MHA’s Health Leadership program and Wharton Business School’s Executive Presence and Influence Program further underscore his dedication to professional development and healthcare innovation.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Spoor has served on the Advisory Board of Bristol Community College, where he helped shape the future of healthcare education. Outside of his career, Mr. Spoor enjoys reading and spending time with his dog, a Havapoo, named Winston reflecting his belief in balancing professional responsibilities with personal fulfillment.
