Miramar, FL—Dr. Annabelle S. Alvarez, DO, MPH is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Pinnacle Healthcare Professional for her contributions as an Internist.
Dr. Alvarez received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, minoring in Chemistry and Anthropology, and also earned a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Miami. She received a Doctor of Osteopathy from the Dr. Kirin C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University and completed an internal medicine residency at Palmetto General Hospital.
Dr. Alvarez practices in Miami Beach, FL and specializes in the medical treatment of adults. According to the doctor, internists can act as a primary physician or a consultant to specialty physicians. They manage both common and rare diseases. Dr. Alvarez provides comprehensive care and manages treatment with surgeons, as well. Internists establish long-term relationships with their patients and incorporate disease prevention and mental health care into their practice.
Dr. Alvarez serves patients from 18 years old and up and notes that the oldest patient was 102 years old. She treats all issues including heart failure, COVID and respiratory distress to the multitude of primary care issues. She communicates and takes time with all her patients to insure they understand their conditions and the proper course of treatment.
The doctor has published multiple articles including the following: Congenital cytomegalovirus infection resulting in sensorineural hearing loss and nystagmus and Plaque psoriasis with severe hyperpigmentation in skin of color. She is associated with the American Medical Association; MA; American Medical Women’s Association; and AOA. The doctor is board certified in internal medicine.
In her spare time, the doctor participates in Project Toy, which is an annual toy drive for the holidays. She also donates to United Way of Miami. She enjoys traveling and spending quality time with family and friends. She plays tennis and volleyball and maintains her dexterity on the piano.
Dr. Alvarez would like to dedicate this honor to her mentors: Dr. Israel D. Alvarez (pediatrician and father), and family friend, Ruben Gonzalez, MD, who is a pediatric gastroenterologist. Her philosophy is “Because to serve, is first to love.” Dr. Alvarez would like to thank her father, Dr. Israel D. Alvarez, who was her first mentor and biggest supporter.
