Dr. Miranda began his medical training at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico where he earned a Medical Doctor degree. He then completed a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Arizona Cancer Center in Tucson, AZ., as well as a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.
Licensed to work in Arizona, Florida, and Texas, Dr. Miranda is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine; American Board of Medical Oncology; and American Board of Hematology. He currently practices in Laredo, TX and specializes in the care and treatment of patients with cancer. As an oncologist, Dr. Miranda notes that he manages and oversees the treatment of a cancer patient after he or she has been diagnosed with the disease. Oncologists will care for their patients throughout the course of the disease. Known for his compassionate care, Dr. Miranda has been providing state-of-the-art cancer care for communities in South Texas and ensures his patients can receive the latest standard treatments for cancer while staying closer to home. A highlight of his career, Dr. Miranda is involved with Phase III randomized clinical trials in lung, breast, head and neck, gastrointestinal, genitourinary and hematological malignancies and a Phase I/II trial of experimental agents in refractory solid tumors of hematological malignancies and palliative supportive interventions in cancer patients.
Considerate of his civic responsibilities, the doctor supports local and community projects and cancer services. He would like to dedicate this honor to his mother, Rosa M. Arnold and in loving memory of his father, Faustino Miranda, and he thanks them for their love and support.
