Dr. Eric J. Siskind has established a distinguished career in transplant surgery, earning recognition for his expertise in kidney, pancreas, and liver transplantation as well as his commitment to delivering individualized, patient centered care. As Director of the Transplant Center at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, he is dedicated to helping patients overcome complex medical challenges and achieve improved quality of life through advanced surgical treatment.
Board certified by the American Board of Surgery and certified by the American Society of Transplant Surgeons, Dr. Siskind specializes in organ transplantation, minimally invasive nephrectomies, dialysis access surgery, arteriovenous fistulas, hepatobiliary surgery, and complex general surgery. Throughout his career, he has performed more than 300 transplant and advanced surgical procedures, helping patients facing life threatening illnesses receive transformative care.
Dr. Siskind earned a Bachelor of Arts in Pre Medical Studies and English from Columbia University before obtaining his Doctor of Medicine from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2009. He completed his General Surgery Residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital and subsequently completed a Transplant Surgery Fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2016. He also completed the prestigious Transplant Leadership Development Program through Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business.
Prior to joining Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in 2022, Dr. Siskind served in transplant surgery roles at leading medical institutions including Inova Fairfax Medical Center, the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, Albany Medical Center, and SUNY Upstate Hospital. He also contributed to transplant innovation through research development work involving transplant cell free DNA technologies.
In addition to his clinical achievements, Dr. Siskind has authored more than 25 scientific manuscripts and book chapters and serves on national ethics and peer support committees. His contributions to research and professional leadership have earned numerous honors, including the American Society of Transplant Surgeons Young Investigator Award and the Richard Strauss Memorial Award for Excellence in Clinical Surgical Research.
Dr. Siskind credits mentors Dr. Ernesto Molmenti and Dr. Stephen Bartlett for their guidance throughout his career. Looking ahead, he plans to continue growing his practice and expanding access to transplant services so he can help even more patients receive life changing care.
