Mr. Salamido oversees a $13.5 million organization with a team of 28 professionals dedicated to advancing the interests of businesses throughout the state. Under his leadership, the Chamber serves as the largest advocate for business in North Carolina, representing 22 industries and engaging in initiatives that support economic growth and competitiveness, workforce growth, healthcare solutions, and sound public policy. The organization also manages health insurance programs and other services designed to help businesses succeed in an increasingly competitive environment.
Widely respected for his expertise in public affairs, governmental relations, and business advocacy, Mr. Salamido has developed a reputation for bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and community stakeholders to address critical challenges and create opportunities for sustainable growth. His leadership reflects a deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory environments that impact businesses across North Carolina.
Mr. Salamido earned a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Administration from the University of Texas. His educational background, combined with decades of professional experience, has provided the foundation for a successful career focused on public policy, business leadership, and strategic advocacy.
Prior to his current role, he built valuable experience in public affairs with Glaxo, where he gained insight into corporate advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and government relations. These experiences helped shape his approach to leadership and prepared him for the challenges of representing businesses on a statewide scale.
Throughout his career, Mr. Salamido has remained actively involved in numerous civic and professional organizations. His affiliations include, the Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus, the United States Chamber of Commerce, and St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church. He also serves on various boards of directors, further demonstrating his commitment to community engagement and economic development.
