Honolulu, HI — Gary Y. Okamura M.D, F.R.C.S.C. is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Orthopedic Surgeon for his exceptional contributions to the field of Orthopedics.

Dr. Okamura graduated from the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry of the University of Alberta in 1987. He completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Alberta, followed by a Fellowship in Shoulder Upper Extremity Surgery at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco. With over 35 years in the field, Dr. Okamura has demonstrated exemplary work which helps his patients reduce or eliminate pain.

Dr. Okamura is a double board-certified orthopedic surgeon with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons, with a certificate of added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He operates at the Honolulu Sport and Spine Surgery Center, which has two locations in Waipahu and Honolulu, and at Queens Medical Center. He performs the most hip arthroscopies in Hawaii, and specializes in hip reconstruction surgery.

He helps his patients increase their mobility in areas like the shoulders, hips, and knees. Whether he provides care in-office or in an operating room, Dr. Okamura uses top-notch medical techniques to restore his patient’s health quickly. He uses the latest technology, as well as the use of Platelet Rich Plasma, to stimulate natural healing with fewer complications.

Dr. Okamura utilizes Arthroscopic Hip Surgery as a newer method of treating hip pain that is not widely available. He views his work as an art form: individually sculpting the hip bones to fit the socket for pain reduction. Honolulu Sport and Spine Surgery Centers also offers hand surgery and spinal procedures.
