Las Vegas, NV — James A. Boesiger, DMSc, PA-C, CPE, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as an Exceptional Healthcare Professional for his excellence as a Physician Assistant and in acknowledgment of his work with Nevada Comprehensive Pain Centers.
A highly trained medical professional, Dr. Boesiger began his healthcare career over 37 years ago. He works with Nevada Comprehensive Pain Centers, where he has served since 2006. After fracturing his neck in a severe fall a few years ago, he personally understands what his patients are experiencing with their pain issues.
In addition to his specialization in pain and headache management, he also holds significant expertise in fibromyalgia syndrome and integrative medicine.
Dr. Boesiger began his healthcare career as an Emergency Medical Technician in East Cleveland, where his love for the medical field deepened. After completing the Physician Assistant program at Lake Erie College, he obtained his Master’s degree in Sports Medicine from the United States Sports Academy.
In 2005, Dr. Boesiger became interested in pain management and moved to the Las Vegas Valley. Through the American Society of Pain Educators, he became one of Nevada’s first Certified Pain Educators in 2006. He was credentialed as a Pain Practitioner by the American Academy of Pain Management in 2007. Furthering his education in headache medicine, he passed a board exam to earn a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in 2016 through the National Headache Foundation.
In furthering his medical education, Dr. Boesiger completed his Doctorate of Medical Science (DMSc) from Lynchburg College of Virginia in 2018.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Boesiger has also served as a mentor and medical instructor. He spent about 20 years working in emergency medicine throughout Central and South Florida, and during this time, he was also an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University’s PA program. As a faculty member there, he was honored as “Teacher of the Year” for two consecutive years. Dr. Boesiger has also taught at Barry University and served as a guest lecturer at Touro University in Las Vegas.
Dr. Boesiger has additionally served as an expert lecturer and consultant across the United States. He has served on Pain Advisory Boards for companies such as DepoMed, Allergan, Pfizer, Daiichi Sankyo, and Bioventus among many others, and was invited to address the entire Collegium Pharmaceutical sales force at a national meeting.
Among his hobbies outside of work, Dr. Boesiger enjoys playing the guitar, fly fishing, fly tying, hiking, and being outdoors.
