Having devoted 23 years to her medical career, Dr. Karina Billiris Findlay is a distinguished, board-certified ophthalmologist proudly serving patients at the Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Wesley Chapel offices at Retina Vitreous Associates of Florida. As a practicing medical and retina surgeon, she performs surgical procedures at AdventHealth Hospital in Tampa. Dr. Findlay brings her valuable knowledge to the University of South Florida as a Clinical Associate Professor in Ophthalmology. Additionally, she has supervised residents and fellows in surgical cases at James A. Haley VA Hospital for over 15 years. In constant pursuit of continuing education and participating in clinical research, Dr. Findlay is a highly sought after speaker. She has given numerous patient education talks in diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
In light of her academic achievements, Dr. Findlay graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with a degree in Chemistry. She then completed her medical training, internship, and Ophthalmology Residency at the University of South Florida. Shortly after that, she completed her Retina Fellowship with Retina Vitreous Associates of Florida, where she has spent her entire career.
Remaining abreast of the latest advancements in her field, Dr. Findlay is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is affiliated with several professional societies, including the Tampa Bay Ophthalmological Society, Florida Society of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Retinal Specialists.
In her spare time, Dr. Findlay enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with family. She has two step-children as well as a son and daughter.
