Houston, TX – Kathryn G. Froiland Deck, MSN, RN, AOCNS, CWOCN, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Lifetime Achiever in the field of Medicine as an Oncology Nurse Educator at GSK Oncology.

Leading an impressive career for over four decades, Ms. Froiland is venerated by her peers for her dedication to nursing. She has had extensive experience in direct care and education, leaving direct care with the title of senior wound ostomy continence nurse. In 2001, she ascended to the ranks of program director of the Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse Education Program. Two years after, she transitioned to Glaxo Smith Kline, where she worked as an oncology clinical nurse educator for more than a decade.
Throughout the course of her career, Ms. Froiland attained expertise in the areas of oncology, teaching, consulting for ostomy patients, and expert witness testimonies. She loves her career because of the impact she has on others. Helping patients adapt to changes, she reduces their tension, listens to their stories, and applies her knowledge.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Froiland earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing from St. Olaf College in 1979, soon after acquiring licensure as a registered nurse. She went on to attend the University of Texas, Houston School of Nursing, earning a Master of Science in oncology nursing in 1994. Additionally, she has attained the following certifications: Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing.
Remaining abreast of the latest developments, Ms. Froiland is a member of the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). A noted humanitarian, she donates to ONS, nursing education programs, and cancer support organizations.
In her spare time, Ms. Froiland enjoys reading, traveling Italy and road trips in the US, and spending time with family and friends.
