Oklahoma City, OK — Laura I. Rankin, MD, FACP, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Nephrologist for her outstanding contributions in the field of Medicine and acknowledgment of her dedication and commitment as Co-Founder and Nephrologist at Kidney Specialists of Central Oklahoma.
Since 1996, Dr. Laura I. Rankin and her practice at Kidney Specialists of Central Oklahoma has been committed to seeking improved methods and the newest technologies to effectively diagnose and treat patients with kidney disease. Offering high quality services in dialysis management, chronic kidney disease, kidney transplant care, and kidney consulting, Dr. Rankin has garnered a laudable reputation as an expert in all areas of the renal function.
An academic scholar, Dr. Rankin graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in pre-medical studies. Soon thereafter, she earned her Medical Degree from the University of Iowa, completed her Internal Medicine residency, and Nephrology fellowship both at Indiana University.
Having accrued 47 years of vast knowledge and professional experience, Dr. Rankin has served many teaching and leadership positions, including 16 years at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center as Rank of Professor of Medicine and Clinical Professor of Medicine.
Additionally, she was the Former Medical Director and CEO at the Dialysis Specialists of Central Oklahoma and Medical Director at the Hemodialysis, Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. To further advocate for organizations that monitor the quality of chronic kidney disease, Dr. Rankin served on the Board of Directors, and Medical Advisory Committee of ESRD Network 13 and the Medical Advisory Committee of Forum of ESRD Networks.
A frontrunner in her field, Dr. Rankin is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She maintains active memberships with the American Medical Association, American Society of Nephrology, Renal Physicians Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, Fellow of the American College of Physicians. In her free time, Dr. Rankin donates to various charities in her community.
Dr. Rankin would like to dedicate this recognition in loving memory of her father, Mr. Alvin Isaacs, who served his career proudly in the U.S. Army.
