Leigh Ann McGlinn – PhD, APRN, NNP-BC, RRT-NPS, CHSE

Flagstaff, AZ – Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Leigh Ann McGlinn is acknowledged as a Pinnacle Professional Member Inner Circle of Excellence for her contributions to Advancing Neonatal Healthcare Through Simulation and Expertise.

Dr. Leigh Ann McGlinn, founder of the McGlinn Institute Neonatal, is revolutionizing neonatal healthcare education with a mission to elevate procedural skills, provide evidence-based neonatal simulations, and enhance patient care. With over three decades of industry expertise, Dr. McGlinn is dedicated to safeguarding the lives of neonates by equipping healthcare professionals with critical skills in diagnostics, teamwork, and communication.

McGlinn Institute Neonatal offers multi-dimensional competency simulations, developed to strengthen cognitive, technical, and behavioral skills in neonatal care. These simulations go beyond routine clinical drills to empower healthcare teams with practical experience in high-stakes scenarios. “Our patients cannot tell us what’s wrong; we must become neonatal detectives,” explains Dr. McGlinn. “Recognizing subtle cues, like slight nasal flaring that indicates respiratory distress, is essential to diagnosing and treating these fragile lives effectively.”

In addition to her educational services, Dr. McGlinn is a sought-after expert legal witness, combining her background in respiratory therapy, nursing, and neonatal transport. Her comprehensive approach allows her to provide clear, methodical insights into complex neonatal cases, making her a vital resource for legal teams involved in neonatal care cases.

Dr. McGlinn’s academic background includes a PhD from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, along with an MSN from the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, and an AAS in both Nursing and Respiratory Care from Odessa College in Odessa, Texas. She is certified as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP-BC) and holds additional certifications in respiratory therapy, pediatric and neonatal respiratory care as well as healthcare simulation educator.

Her work has been widely recognized in numerous healthcare journals, and she frequently lectures at conferences, sharing her insights from local venues to international symposiums. Guided by a philosophy that emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based care, Dr. McGlinn strives to deepen the understanding of neonatal healthcare to better serve the most vulnerable patients.
