San Pedro, CA – Maile A. Bay Jaques, P.T., D.P.T., O.C.S., C.S.C.S., is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Doctor in the field of Physical Therapy in recognition of her role as a Physical Therapist at Excel Physical Therapy Associates.
Dr. Bay Jacques has over ten years of experience in
orthopedics and physical therapy. She has been at her current position for
eight years, offering patients her expertise of physical therapy in orthopedics
with emphasis on conditions related to the spine and pelvis. At Excel Physical
Therapy Associates, her treatment approach is a combination of functional
manual therapy, neuromuscular reeducation, use of photobiomodulation for
enhanced healing times, and many therapeutic exercise modalities including Pilates,
TRX, Kettlebells, and Aquatic Therapy.
An avid lover of dance, Dr. Bay Jacques felt a
connection to physical therapy because both include the study of movement. She
feels engrossed by her position, enjoying how each case is like a puzzle and
how education is always expanding. For the best results, she recommends that
patients start treatment early before pain becomes
chronic, implement lifestyle and nutritional changes, and
prioritize self-care.
In acknowledgement of academic success, Dr. Bay Jaques began her years of scholarship at the University of California Santa Barbara where she received a Bachelor of Science in biology in 2006. Three years later, she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. In 2008, the National Strength and Conditioning Association certified her as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. In 2012, she became a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist.
To remain up to date in her field, Dr. Bay Jacques is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and completes many continuing education courses each year with an emphasis of study in the treatment style of the Institute of Physical Art. She is charitable to the Salvation Army and gives free workshops to her local community on shoulder and rotator cuff pain.
In her free time, Dr. Bay Jacques enjoys dancing, running, practicing yoga, performing Pilates, spending time with friends and family, and enjoying the great outdoors with her beloved boxer.
