Dr. Michael J. Noonan has built an extraordinary career in medicine, spanning more than six decades of dedicated service in pediatrics, allergy, and immunology. Recognized for his expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergic diseases, he has made lasting contributions to patient care, clinical research, and physician mentorship.

After earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in 1964, Dr. Noonan began a lifelong commitment to advancing healthcare. He completed his pediatrics residency at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital before serving as a pediatrician in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970, retiring with the rank of Major. He later completed fellowship training in allergy and immunology at both the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Oregon Health and Science University Hospital.

From 1975 through his retirement in 2025, Dr. Noonan devoted his career to allergy and immunology practice in Portland, Oregon, where he became widely respected for his patient centered approach and commitment to improving the lives of those living with asthma and allergic conditions. Over the course of his career, clinical research comprised a significant part of his work, reflecting his dedication to advancing medical understanding alongside patient care.

Among his notable contributions is his authorship of a 1991 Journal of Pulmonology paper examining the use of fluticasone in preventing and reducing asthma symptoms, a reflection of his commitment to evidence based innovation in treatment.

Dr. Noonan has been an active member of the Oregon Society of Allergy and Immunology and is recognized for more than 60 years of professional excellence and service. His work has influenced generations of patients and contributed meaningfully to the advancement of allergy and immunology care.
