Newnan, GA — Shazia Khan, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Nephrologist for her remarkable achievements and credentials in the medical field and her outstanding leadership as the Owner of the Kidney Clinic.
Shazia Khan, MD, a highly trained nephrologist, has garnered a 2021 Top Doc Award to recognize her 24 years of professional excellence in her field. She specializes in all phases of nephrology and speaks English and Urdu. With a commitment to providing personalized patient care, Dr. Khan established the Kidney Clinic in 2002 with two convenient office locations to serve our patients in south metro-Atlanta. The team of board-certified nephrologists represents a combined 35 years of experience with kidney disease and its complications. The practice offers a range of clinical services, including hospital consultations, office consultations, and dialysis care. The Kidney Clinic also offers education, planning, and management of renal replacement therapies. In addition to her primary role, Dr. Khan is affiliated with Piedmont Newnan Hospital, Piedmont Fayette Hospital, and Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Newnan. She is the Medical Director of three dialysis centers.
Among her academic achievements, Dr. Khan obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in pre-medical sciences from Lahore College for Women in Pakistan, followed by her medical degree from the Fatima Jinnah Medical College for Women, University of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan, in 1988. Upon relocating to the United States, she performed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Veteran Affairs Medical Center, followed by her fellowship in nephrology at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
Board-certified in Nephrology and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Khan continues to remain abreast of the latest nephrology advancements. She maintains memberships with the National Kidney Foundation, the American Society of Nephrology, the North American Association of Pakistani Physicians, the Leadership Council for Piedmont Newnan Council, and the Female Physician Forum.
When she is not practicing at the Clinic, Dr. Khan volunteers her time seeing patients in Belize with the National Kidney Foundation.
