Copperas Cove, TX—Prominently featured in The Inner Circle, Tanya Lesch-Coppock is acknowledged as a Most Trusted Educator for her contributions to the Field of Education.
Ms. Coppock earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She completed a Master of Science in Special Education at Kaplan University and is certified in behavioral and emotional disorders. After serving as a resource teacher and interim professional, she became a special education educator at Killeen Independent School District in 2012, a post she has held since.
Ms. Coppock is associated with the National Education Association and was nominated for a Teacher of the Year Award from the Belair School. She teaches fourth and fifth grade skills to students, helping them to reach their individualized education plan (IEP) goals. Ms. Coppock attributes her success to the support of her school and her family. The educator knew she wanted to become a teacher since she was in the first grade and was inspired by her third-grade teacher, Mrs. Regal. Ms. Coppock was later drawn to special education after learning about it in the eighth grade. In the coming years, she hopes to continue teaching.
