Terry L. Burge has built a distinguished career in education, earning recognition for his leadership in school transformation, professional development, and educational equity. As the founder of Burge Educational Consultants, he partners with educators, administrators, and school districts to improve student outcomes through innovative training, strategic coaching, and sustainable leadership practices.
Since launching Burge Educational Consultants in 2023, Mr. Burge has provided professional development and coaching for executives, administrators, and teachers while supporting schools and districts in strengthening literacy, mathematics, English language development, special education, and instructional leadership. His consulting work focuses on creating equitable learning environments that empower educators and help every student succeed.
Mr. Burge earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Media Studies from Lamar University in 1988 before completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration through California State University. He also holds California credentials as a Teaching Administrator in Education, a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential for Transitional Kindergarten through Adult Education, and certification as a Remote Learning and Digital Citizenship Trainer.
With more than 25 years of experience in education, Mr. Burge has served in numerous leadership roles, including teacher, literacy coach, instructional specialist, intervention coordinator, principal, district administrator, and educational consultant. Throughout his career, he has worked with school systems including the Lynwood Unified School District, Whittier City School District, and Los Angeles Unified School District, helping improve instructional practices and student achievement across diverse educational settings.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Burge played a vital role in helping educators successfully transition to online instruction. He trained teachers to effectively deliver remote learning while also serving as an online third-grade teacher, ensuring students continued receiving high-quality instruction during an unprecedented period of educational disruption. His expertise in remote education helped schools maintain continuity while supporting both general education and students with special needs.
Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Burge has successfully led school and district reform initiatives in challenging educational environments, helping improve outcomes for students, educators, and communities. His leadership has earned praise from students, families, and colleagues for creating meaningful and lasting educational change.

Outside of his professional responsibilities, he enjoys traveling, reading, and painting, activities that foster creativity, lifelong learning, and personal growth.
