Floral City, FL — Virginia Schekorra, D.O., F.A.O.C.D., is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Top Dermatologist for her professional excellence in the medical field and her unwavering dedication to the medical community at The Dermatology Center.
As a board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Schekorra has led an impressive medical career for 32 years. Her specialties include clinical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and pediatric skin conditions. She has devoted the last 21 years to providing all dermatologic procedures, including M.O.H.S. surgeries, pediatric dermatology, and cosmetic and laser treatments at The Dermatology Center. Always striving to provide the best possible care, she now offers mobile services for her patients. Dr. Schekorra also provides her services at Tampa General Hospital and Northside Hospital.
Among her academic achievements, Dr. Schekorra obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Microbiology, and Physical Sciences, followed by her Master of Science degree in Biology, both from Northeastern Missouri State University. Then she went on to receive her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. To further her medical training, Dr. Schekorra completed an O.B.G.Y.N. residency, practicing this specialty from 1988 to 1992. Subsequently, she completed a Dermatology residency at Metropolitan Hospital.
Remaining abreast of the latest advancements in her field, Dr. Schekorra maintains active memberships with the American Osteopathic Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Pinellas Association of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Florida Society of Dermatology. She is also a distinguished Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology.
When she is not practicing medicine, Dr. Schekorra is a member of Kiwanis International. In addition, as a proud mentee, Dr. Schekorra dedicates this honorable recognition to her mentor, Jewell Malick, D.O.
