He also completed an anesthesia residency and a pain management fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he was chief resident and resident of the year. The doctor is board certified in anesthesiology and pain management.
The doctor became an assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine (1997-2000), teaching residents and fellows pain management, anesthesia, and acupuncture. He became the Pain Management Center director at VA Hospital – Yale University from 1997-2000. After leaving Yale University as an assistant professor, he was honored to stay on board as a clinical assistant professor from 2000-2002. Over the last several years, he has been in private practice performing pain management acupuncture and anesthesia.
Among his professional memberships and affiliations, Dr. Elkholy is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Elkholy has various publications and abstracts in addition to his awards and honors. He has received a Certificate of Achievement Award from the New York Academy of Medicine, as well as the Outstanding House Officer Award, the Pain Management Directors Award, and the Chief Resident Award—all from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Outside of his primary work, the doctor is the founder of the Talat Elkholy Charitable Foundation, which distributes over $200,000 annually to sponsor disadvantaged children for education in Africa.
