Encino, CA — Wendy Dio is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Executive for her outstanding accomplishments as an Artist Manager and Producer in the Music Industry and in acknowledgment of her company Niji Management INC.
During her 40-plus years in the music business, Ms. Dio has made an indelible mark, serving as a top-tier Artist Manager and Executive Producer on numerous gold and platinum albums. Her pioneering success in the early years of her career helped inspire and pave the way for other females in music management.
Ms. Dio was already working in the music industry in 1978 when she married heavy metal singer, songwriter, and composer Ronnie James Dio. Among his many achievements, Mr. Dio served as the front man for Rainbow and Black Sabbath.
In 1981, Ms. Dio founded the exclusive Niji Management INC. The Los Angeles-based company grew exponentially, and Ms. Dio quickly established herself as a trusted music manager in the heavily male-dominated entertainment world. In addition to managing and producing live performance recordings for her husband, Ronnie James Dio, she also served as a manager for such LA-based rock bands as Rough Cutt, NuHaven, Cold Sweat, and Hellion.
Ms. Dio’s exceptional work in stage set design and concert video production has been recognized with industry awards from Performance and Pollstar. In 2010, Niji Entertainment Group INC was formed as a recording and touring company. Following her husband’s death in 2010, Ms. Dio co-founded the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which, to date, has generated more than $2 million for the benefit of cancer research, patient education, and early detection screenings. In March 2014, the tribute album “Ronnie James Dio: This Is Your Life” was released, with all album proceeds going to benefit the Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund. Also in 2014, Ms. Dio received a Grammy in Best Metal Performance for her role as Executive Producer for “Last in Line” by Tenacious D.
Although today, Ms. Dio has taken a small step back from the industry, she manages some of her long-time clients, such as Dio Returns and Aynsley Dunbar. In recent years, she has been primarily focused on maintaining and cultivating the musical legacy of her late husband. In 2021, she co-authored a biography about her late husband, titled “Rainbow in the Dark: The Autobiography” which made the bestseller list. Currently, Ms. Dio is working on a film documentary on her husband’s life, which is scheduled to premiere later this summer.
