Flagstaff, AZ — Bohdan N. Hrecznyj, MD, is being recognized by Continental Who’s Who as a Distinguished Healthcare Professional for his excellence in the Psychiatric field and in acknowledgment of his work with The Guidance Center.
With more than 37 years of expertise in psychiatry, Dr. Hrecznyj is currently in clinical practice at The Guidance Center, a not-for-profit Community Mental Health Center with locations serving Flagstaff, Williams, and the surrounding Northern Arizona communities. The clinic offers a full range of services, from general mental health counseling to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization for acute psychiatric emergencies.
Board-certified in General and Child Psychiatry, Dr. Hrecznyj specializes in mental health care for people of all ages with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder. He practices integrative psychiatry, including medications, in conjunction with supplements and mindfulness practices.
In pursuit of his medical career, Dr. Hrecznyj obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with honors in 1981 from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. He earned his Medical Degree in 1985 from Wayne State University’s School of Medicine. From there, the doctor completed a rotating medical internship at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. He completed his General Psychiatric Residency at the Lafayette Clinic (Wayne State University) in 1987 and a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital in 1990.
As a testament to his training, the doctor is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He additionally is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Ukrainian North American Medical Association, among his professional affiliations.
Dr. Hrecznyj and his wife, Lorian, have been married for 29 years. They are the parents of three children. Of particular note, he is a former coach for a youth soccer league.
Dr. Hrecznyj would like to dedicate this recognition to his mentor, Teresa Bertch, MD, who serves as the Chief Medical Officer for the Guidance Center and the Vice President of the Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority.
